We are a network of medical and public health volunteers, along with non-medical community members, who offer their skills, expertise, and time to support ongoing public health initiatives and assist throughout the Greater Kansas City area during disasters and other times of community need.

MRCKC works to improve and protect our community by supporting:

• Volunteer emergency preparedness training and exercises
• Health education and screenings
• Efforts to provide medical services to at-risk populations
• Support for local and state response to disasters and terrorism, staffing support for emergency shelters, and dispensing sites for medications and vaccination.

The mission of the Medical Reserve Corps of Greater Kansas City is to improve the disaster resilience and health of communities through education, training and volunteer service

• Clay County, MO
• Jackson County, MO
• Platte County, MO
• Ray County, MO
• Johnson County, KS
• Leavenworth County, KS
• Miami County, KS
• Wyandotte County, KS
• Incorporated cities in these counties

MRCGKC assists city and county health departments and local emergency management agencies in each of these nine counties. Our members work under the direction of local public health or emergency management agencies, and are trained to understand local plans and protocols for treating patients or administering medicines.  MRCGKC also works closely with Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) throughout the region.
