MRCKC Full Corps Membership MeetingsAre you looking for a way to become more involved? Want to help your community if a disaster strikes our area? Do you think personal preparedness and responsibility are important?
Then attend a Full Corps meeting and learn about volunteer opportunities and what's new in emergency preparedness in the Greater Kansas City area. The membership meeting is a great time to get acquainted with other Corps members with whom you may be volunteering in the future. Put faces with names. Names with faces. There's always an excellent speaker from one of our volunteer partners in public safety and emergency services: Public Health, Red Cross, national or Region VII Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), and other Citizen Corps programs. Members of faith-and community-based organizations and agency representatives from the KC Metro Community Organizations Active in Disasters (KCMCOAD) have also given presentations. We also have trainings and educational programs about psychological first aid, disaster response, and other timely issues like sheltering-in-place and the Ebola virus. The membership meetings will give you a heads up about future training opportunities and events where you may use your skills to help our community! |
